Masters' Union · A Creative Studio Pilot

Content that slaps. We back the rest.

Nine students. Nine videos a month. One has to cross 100k views. That is the whole deal. You get ₹50,000 a month and the full Creative Studio behind you: studio space, equipment and creative direction.

The Why

We tried this once. It worked.

Before any of this was a programme, we ran a simple experiment: take one Masters' Union student, put real creative direction behind her, and see what happened.

9M+
Views

We put one Masters' Union student, Prisha, in front of real creative direction. She posted 11 videos. They crossed 9 million views. That was the trigger for all of this.

The takeaway was simple: with the right backing, becoming a creator is a real path, not a gamble. Project Nine Lives is us doing for nine more students exactly what we did with Prisha, and Creative Studio exists to make sure they get everything they need to make it.

01 What it is

Pick a thesis. Prove you can execute it. Get backed.

Project Nine Lives is a Masters' Union Creative Studio pilot. It runs alongside your degree, never inside it. You pick a thesis, build your own account on it (your name, your channel), and Creative Studio backs it so it grows faster than it would alone. Opt-in, selective, and earned.

What it is

  • A Creative Studio pilot at Masters' Union. Selective, opt-in, and earned.
  • Real backing: ₹50,000 a month, studio space, equipment and creative direction for your own account.
  • A model built on output. Ship consistently, at a level that moves numbers.
  • One pilot cohort of 9 students. A genuinely limited number of seats.

What it is not

  • Not an intellectual property. No Nine Lives channel, show or format. It's your content, your name.
  • Not curriculum. No credits, no grades, nothing on a transcript. It sits outside the academic programme.
  • Not permanent. A place is held month to month, kept by output, and it can be lost.
What's a thesis?

A thesis is a specific content lane with a proven angle and a real audience, for example "the economics of one cricket match" or "the biology behind everyday habits". We have mapped and scored 100 of them. The account you build has to sit on one of these 100 (or one you pitch into the list). That is the IP you commit to. Explore the 100 theses →

02 How it works

How you get in. A filter, not a form.

Four steps, in order. Selection assesses three things: whether you can execute, whether you hold a genuine point of view, and whether you'll keep going when it gets repetitive.

01

Pick your thesis

Choose one of the 100 theses, or pitch your own into the list and make the case in your deck. This becomes the lane you build in. Pick one you can commit to for months, not an afternoon.

02

Make the video

Turn the thesis into a finished, watchable short-form piece. Not a treatment or a moodboard. This proves you can execute, not just describe.

03

Send vision & video

Submit the video with a written vision, preferably a deck. Where the account goes, who it's for, what it looks like six months in.

04

Interview & review

A conversation with the team alongside a review of your video and pitch. It's all about the excitement and the intent.

03 The Rules

Nine videos. One has to pop.

The name is the rule. A cat gets nine lives; you get nine videos. Every month resets to zero, and two non-negotiables decide whether your seat carries into the next one.

Rule 1 · Cadence

Upload 9 videos

EVERY MONTH
9

Upload nine videos every month, minimum. This one is non-negotiable. Land eight and you are out. Nine lives, nine shots, no rounding up.

Rule 2 · Outcome

One has to land

EVERY MONTH
100K

At least one of those nine has to cross 100k views. Non-negotiable. Nine uploads and nothing breaks 100k, and you are out.

₹50K

Hit both non-negotiables, every month, and the ₹50,000 is yours. It is meant to go straight back into the work: travel, shoots, production costs, whatever the content needs.

You lose your seat if:

  • You upload fewer than nine videos in a month. Eight is still out.
  • Not one of your nine crosses 100k views that month.
  • You go dark, or arrive at the monthly call with no work, no plan, no movement.

This is not punishment. Nine seats is a hard limit; one held by someone standing still is one taken from someone who would run with it.

04 The Upside

So what if one actually pops?

100k is the floor that keeps your seat. The real game is the video that runs away from you. Here is what each level unlocks.

100K
The floor

One video past 100k keeps you in the cohort for another month. Not the goal, the bar. Clear it and your seat is safe.

1M
Now it is working

A million views means the thesis has legs. We double down: sharper creative direction, more studio time, and you become the case study the next cohort hears about.

10M+
Different conversation

At this point you are not a student chasing a bar any more, you are a channel with momentum. Brand interest, bigger swings, and a real audience that is yours to keep.

05 The Backing

What you get. Backing that's hard to assemble alone.

₹50,000/month

Paid every month, to put straight into travel, shoots and production. Money that goes into the content, not around it.

Studio space

Access to state-of-the-art Creative Studio spaces to shoot in. Book it, light it, use it.

The equipment

State-of-the-art cameras, lenses, lighting and audio. The kit a real channel runs on.

Creative direction

Mentors shaping angle, format, hook and quality. You bring the raw material, they sharpen it.

The space you'll actually shoot in

Real sets and real gear, inside Masters' Union. Book it, light it, use it.

07 The Arc

How a cohort runs, start to finish.

SELECTION

Thesis, video, vision, interview

The filter that decides the nine.

EVERY MONTH

Upload the nine

Minimum nine videos a month. Build the body of work. Eight and you are out.

EVERY MONTH

Land one past 100k

At least one of the nine has to cross 100k views, or the seat opens up.

EVERY MONTH

The cohort call

Review, intent check, course-correct, together in the room.

THROUGHOUT

Stay above the bar, stay in

A place is held month to month, never granted once.

Why "Nine Lives"?  A cat is famous for getting nine attempts at the same fall. It lands, shakes it off, and goes again. That's the spirit of the programme: an account rarely works on the first try. Project Nine Lives gives you the backing, the direction and the runway to keep landing on your feet. Post after post, month after month, until the numbers move. Nine chances, one thesis, every life spent on the work.

The Master Sheet · 100 Theses

The 100 Theses

One hundred content theses, each scored on how it would perform and how big its audience is. Pick one and it becomes the lane you build in, or pitch your own into the list in your application deck. Click any thesis to open its full breakdown, references and starter videos.

KCTA The performance score

Every thesis is rated on four axes from 1 to 5. The KCTA score is their average. A quick read of how well a thesis is built to perform.

K
Known interest

How many people in India already care about this topic.

C
Content runway

How endlessly repeatable the format is. Can you post for months without running dry.

T
Trend tailwind

How much current momentum and cultural relevance the topic carries.

A
Audience pull

How strongly the topic draws attention and holds it once someone lands.

KCTA = (K + C + T + A) ÷ 4 · Higher means a stronger-built thesis

TAM The audience size

TAM, short for Total Addressable Market, estimates how large the potential audience for a thesis is on a tiered 1 to 4 scale. KCTA tells you how well a thesis is built; TAM tells you how many people it can ultimately reach.

1
Mass

A near-universal Indian audience. The widest possible reach.

2
Broad

A large, mainstream audience across many segments.

3
Focused

A sizeable but more defined interest group.

4
Niche

A specific, committed audience. Smaller but dedicated.

Read KCTA and TAM together. A strong thesis with a wide market is the sweet spot.
